Depending on your location you will need specific engineering for your plans that will need to be designed, signed and sealed by a licensed Engineer. In some states, you may also a professional stamp (e.g. Nevada) by an architect/engineer. You will also need a specific site plan for your project showing the home located on your property. This may require services and utility tie ups to existing services and/or the provision of new services (e.g. Septic tank if not on a sanitary sewer system). A local Civil Engineer/Surveyor can supply these. You will need area specific energy load calculations that will differ depending on orientation of the home and specific site location. The foundations indicated are for universal conditions and do not address your specific site. Soil samples should be taken at the site by a competent local soil testing laboratory. The foundation will then be designed by a local structural engineer to comply with the findings and recommendations of the soil testing laboratory.
